Insurgancy

America is a funny place. I'm not sure how many are active and I am in a crappy mood so you can go look it up your fucking self, but there are a shit ton of anti government organizations running around in the US. It's strange because they people vocally hate the government, and sometimes black people. They rail against the current establishment and hell some of them even stock pile weapons. There are large numbers of people who live in fortified compounds in the woods with amassed weapons. Sometimes this goes tits up on them like in Waco. However, for the most part we have these large groups of people who can snap at any moment an cause huge amounts of damage. Oklahoma city was two people. No financial backing or training. Two people who leveled a building. Imagine what could happen if a 100 of these fuckers decided it was time to rise up. Sure sure they would be beaten down like dogs eventurally, but not before throwing a couple of major cities in complete disarray and causing untold amounts of deaths.

So why don't they?

See when we look at the stuff going on in Iraq, Afganastan, Pakastan, or what have you maybe we should take a peek into our own back yard. It isn't religious fervor, I mean these organizations are almost universally christian in origin and ideology. So it has to be some other factor. There is something that is keeping these people in check, some sort of social pressure, or some sort of fear, there is something. Something that keeps these people in check, and makes other people strap dynamite to their chests and charge a cafe. I think learning the diffrences between the taliban and our own collection of insurgent organizations is key to understanding the conflict there and dealing with conflict here.

It is one of those stunningly simple ideas that no one has really picked up on. But I mean good god damn we got some scary people running around our country. There has to be some reason why they aren't acting on their hate, fear and anger.

This kinda goes back to all the research I did into Neo Nazism/KKK awhile back. They always talked about the future, where the war is going to happen. The great war of the races or something like that. He said the war will start when the races unnite, the blacks will seize power, and the jewish banker conspiracy will take down the finacial system. It wasn't to much latter that we had a finacial crash with a black president. You know I half expected a waco style flair up of violence but it didn't happen. The thin is though is that they didn't talk to the real leaders of any movements. They talked to people who were more interested in putting up a respectable front, people who masked their fear and ignorance with a snappy uniform along with shouting Hail Hitler. What is up with people who still shout that, the main is dead there is no reason to shout that anymore. Find a new charismatic leader and shout his name. Good heavens.

Ignoring the looser brigade though there are people out there who are legitimatly really fucking scary. Figguring out why they are marauding would be advantageouse. After all the Taliban has shown the world that we really suck at stopping gurilla tactics. Eh okay I am fucking starving. Home times activate!

Your Pal The President part 2

Okay so this has been bothering me. Yes it has. It's funny cause this started with just something about the Demolition Derby, and it spread to the face book thing. The face book thing is a terrible example because it trips over my views of interweb privacy which is something I am fantasticly torn on. Seriously, my views flip flop on it every time I think about it. It is such a big topic and there is so much to get done on it, and a case like the Arlington Mayor's idiocy is a prime example.

So lets remove these things from the calculation and head somewhere else with this. Lior said something this morning in responce to yesterday's post. I didn't get to read it because at the same time I noticed that I noticed the time which was informing me that I was supposed to have left for work already. It had to do with Tiger Woods and people not being able to name their senators. So we will start there. The media! And the past.

The current way our media handles things is pretty shameful. I'm suprised their parents don't disown them for their actions. Still I think there is something telling in all of this. There is a relativly recent historical moment that we are still reeling from. Our inability to deal with this is linked to our inability to move fowards as both a country and a governmental philosphy. So lets head there.

Nixon.

Wait no...Damnit I am missing an article of time that has a brief history of the president's and the press. I really wanted to quote from that before going fowards. What's imporant about it is that there was a time when presidents wouldn't let reporters past the white house gate. I don't know the name of the president but he eventually took pity on them when they were out there during a rain storm. Now the damn people are everywhere.

What will really help bring this entry into focus for a lot of you, is if you go watch the movie Nixon/Frost. It's a good albeit boring movie about how someone who is little better than a talk show host managed to get the ultimate confession out of a man everyone reffered to as Tricky Dick. We look at the relentless mining of our politicians social life now with a mix of both fascination and horror. Of course I say politicians but really it is only the president and when one of them makes an ass of themselves. But it is important to realize that one of the biggest journalistic breakthroughs of the las 50 years was when Frost got Nixon to confess that he did something wrong. It is tremendous, he did it though a combonation of solid research and rediculous pandering to things that simply don't matter.

There is a part in the movie where one of Frost's aids tells him that he shouldn't be interested in irrlevent details like how Nixon took his bed to china with him. Frost replies that is what interested him though, and that right there highlighted the fact that there, at that time, there was a critical break between reporters and entertainers.

Fast foward to today and that break is almost gone. The average american's ability to distinguish between opinion peices and reporting is in the toilet. Even smart people who should know better. More and more news stations are reporting on things that were once the perview of vapid entertainers, and now vapid entertainers are giving Senators and presidancial canidates more face to face air time than some of the news corporations. Hell we have not one but two vapid entertainers (sorry Daily Show) who make a living off of making fun of how the news is becoming vapid entertainment.

This is a movement all darkly predicted by a movie called Network, also a 70's film. And it is more or less coming true. Hell I bet if Glenn Beck were to tell people to shout out their windows, "I am mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore" people would fucking do it. Holyshit they would. Terriflying.

So yes. Here we are at the root of the problem.

I don't have much time yet but I would like to point out another irony real quick. I started to wonder how Republican morals got linked to the conservative government phiosphy. Think about it, Republican=small government. If you don't belive that then go home. But they also want to ban gay marriage, ignore global warming, and be generally bossy about how we live our lives. You would think then that they would want a really strong federal government. So I started asking around. There were some precursors but in general, the first person who successfully equated the republican party with moral superiority was Nixon. It just sort of stuck around ever since, mostly because the Democrats kept reacting to it. I've been given the titles of several books to read on the topic and I plan on doing so, soon hopefully.

Alright I suppose I should go do something werk related.

My favorite part is where he says "At another point he said, "you know, our forefathers had it written in the original Constitution that ONLY property owners could vote, if that has stayed in there, things would be different........". Man I didn't think people like that still excisted anymore. Still the main thing to focus on is the fact that he went on an online tirade because the president cut off the Charlie Brown Christmas special. Because, I dunno maybe he hasn't seen it before or something.

Cheap shots aside, lets move on ever so slightly to something else. In an issue of Time magazine that I've lost. There was an article about how the Demolition derby circuit has been hit pretty hard by the cash for clunkers thing. One quote that stuck out clearly to me, the quote that orginally spawned this blog entry was, "Obama is an anti demolition derby guy"

Now back to the teh title!

People maintain a far to personal relationship with the president. I don't know when this has started. It prolly started in the 70's with Nixon which is where a lot of our current political attitudes have come from. I might expound on that later though. Really though, a lot of what drives people so crazy is the amount of personal investment that people seem to be putting into their politicians. So it leads to people believing that Obama is anti demolision derby or that Obama is anti...snoopy. I mean really REALLY why in gods name would Obama, as his muslim plot, interrupt snoopy? It doesn't make sense.

On the same note Obama isn't anti DD. Well okay I mean in an esoteric sense I guess he is, but he didn't make the cash for clunkers program to kill the DD. I mean come on now. I'm sure it wasn't even considered as a possible side effect.

The president, is not our best friend. He leads the country, and he isn't here to pander to everyone's needs and it is insane to assume that he should. It is this sort of thing that leads people to vote based on the president's food choice, hair cuts, and other things that have absolutly nothing to do with anything. I believe that our relentless mining of our elected leader's personal lives also stems from this. Insanely, our elected officials seem to be making this problem much worse rather than better. They appear on talk shows, the daily, show and other irrelevent shows to make themselves more appealing to people. In their sheer desperation for the atension of the american people they are forgetting that they are leaders of men. They should be winning people over with orator,y their statesman ship, and their ability to lead. There is no leadership in the vast majority of our government. These are just little people who are desperate to keep their jobs. It is rather pathetic and I am starting to getting deeply upset by it.

The sad thing is that our president, and the rest of the federal government are the only people who actually are leading the country, whereas state and local government are just... I don't even know what is going on with them. Some of them are trying desperately to save their states and cities but other elected officials are going on tirades on facebook because of the snoopy special, or running around claiming the obama islamic thing. *sigh* This is loosing focus. Oh well I should of researched it a bit more. This is actually not nearly as straight forward of a topic as I thought it is.

The point is that the relationship we maintain with our elected leaders is just about completely inappropriate. Yes we are supposed to be paying epic amounts of atension to them, but we are paying atension to the wrong things. As a result there is a generalized failure to lead correctly. This is one of those everyone is at fault cascade failures. It is also something worth worrying about. Imagine, if Glenn Beck had greater aspirations other than being a money grubbing sleaze bag.

All we need is one leader in the wrong place and then we could be in seriouse trouble. It is kinda scary typing something like that since I am so anti doom and gloom politics. But I see the irrational fear out there, fear that is so easy to lead, mold, and control. Oh well.

Poor Ballin Palin

There is a porno called "Who is Ballin Pallin" it is god damned hilariouse. The actress looks a lot like her too it is kinda uncanny. Anyway yeah Pallin she's stepped down from office, she has become the laughing stock of politics, and historicly she has become the political equivalent of a cum rag. And you know what? That's a fucking shame.

Here is why. It goes back to the Bush/Kerry election. God what a miserable puddle of shit that was. I mean Bush's reputation was in the crapper, there was an ocean of dissent surrounding the man, and the democratic parties canidate was SO pathetic that he caused people to rally to Bush because having him as a president would just simply be nightmareish. INCREDIBLE. That was definatly the sadest moment in political history as far as the democrats go. The saddest being the most recent presidencial race. Quick everyone how do you instantly win either black or woman voters. Have a black or woman canidate. Not a black woman though that is just to far out there. Plain and simple. What the democrats did is they went for the low blow. Fortunatly for them both Obama and Hilary are both extensively qualified candidates. It doesn't belie the fact that they went for the belt this past election because loosing to a retard is just pathetic.

So McCain tries to play silly buggers by throwing all that back in our faces, and from literally nowhere he scoops of Mrs. Palin. See while Obama and Clinton both were very qualified people Palin is not. She is still new to the political game and blah blah blah. We know all this already.

See it was smart to snatch her up. I mean Palin is new and her position isn't exactly one of power. She is mostly there to help drumb up votes, solve ties, and take over should McCain die, which might happen sooner than latter so it is a damn good thing her didn't get elected. She is young, attractive, devoted to her family, and she definetly represents that down to earth frontier like ideal that lots of Americans still hold in their hearts. She didn't work though. I'm not entirely sure why. I think people were still to confused, to angry over the last Bush administratio. Then Ron Paul wipped the country up into a protorevolutionary frenzy, then Obama road that frenzy to victory. Palin was to little to late.

See the sad thing is that given time she would of had a nice, long, rich, political career. I doubt she would of done anything outstanding. But she would of served her state well. Instead she stepped down.

Her stepping down could of been a brilliant move. She could of called out McCain on how her was just using her to get woman's votes, she could of called out Obama on any number of things, and she could of called out to the regular people. See I think she really captured the imagination of the regular people. She could of called out to them and told them that there is more to doing change, and making a world a better place than being a law maker. She could of told them how. She could say that she isn't stepping down so much as she is rejoining them and together they could help put their country back on the right track and keep it there.

Instead she made a muddled sport's metaphor was mocked for it and told to leave the lime light disgraced. Her's is a sad story really. Politics at its worse.

Oh well.

We can change human nature. We just need to not be lazy gits about it.

Health Care Finale

So far I've written two posts about health care. Ultimatly though it is all going to come to the following conculsion. Sorry kids I am just not for it.

I tried. I really did try to be all excited about health care reform and everything becoming good and better. Hell I am one of the people whjo it would directly benifit. Still. At the end of the day I think we are better off with out it.

Well that's all on that topic.

So I just finnished reading this book...alright fine.

Here is the deal. Am I for cheaper more afordable healthcare for everyone? yep. Am I against socialism. Nope. Am I against the socialization of health care? Nope.

But I am against the socialization of health care in this country.

Let's look at Europe for a minut. After all this is mostly europe's fault. The bastards. The have health care that is fucking awesome for just about everyone so don't we?

First and most obviously, the one big elephant in the room that everyone seems to be ignoring is the fact that every European country is a fuck of a lot smaller than Amercia. Hell you take Texas, California, and Florida and they will take up more landmass than most of the European countries. Well there is canada...yeah well Canada isn't exactly populated enough for it to work out. It maybe big but its population is small. We are just to damn big for a federal democracy to manage.

We don't have a nationalized health care system for the same reason why we don't have federal power companies, federal railway stations, federal road management, or a federal education system. This is because we DO have states, and it is simply easyer for each state to manage their own stuff like all of that rather than letting the federal government run amok with it. AMOK man that is a fun word.

The second reason, which ties into the first, is the relative weakness of our federal government. Lets take a look at china. China is a country that get's shit done. China has always been the country to get shit done. You look at some of the infastructure projects that they are undertaking? Fucking massive. Three gorges damn? Can be seen from space. Our railroad system? Built by them. China has managed to strike that golden balance between dictatorship and insanity. They currently aren't out to take over the world which is neat cause I am pretty sure they would win. However, they are able to get all these things done because the government goes to thier house and tells them to do things or die. Yeah our government can force us to move for a road or something like that but they always have to offer compensation and all sorts of other crap. China it really is do or die. Which is pretty impressive.

Somewhere in the middle of all of this are the European countries. Now this is going to be brief because I don't know a whole hell of a lot about European government. What I do know is that the European government has a lot more authority to enact change than our federal government does. In fact I would liken their powers to the power wielded by our state governments. Weee!

Now here is our country. We essentially have two governments. We have each individual state government which can function on its own, and we have a federal government which allocates funds and tries to make all the states play nice at the same time and honeslty that is all it can do. We saw the weakness of our federal government when it came to Katrina. Federal troops were mobilzed and ready to go pretty much at the drop of the hat. It didn't have to be near the disaster that it was. However, the state wouldn't let them in. It is just that simple.

Having a national healthcare plan really does circumvent 90% of the reason we have states. We aren't China. We can't make people do things by pointing a gun at them and telling them to go. Mostly because those American's who haven't forgotten the second amendment are all armed. Part of the reason why that shit is there. By having states the federal government can concern itself with the bigger picture, while states deal with their own individual stuff which all varies on a state by state basis. Removing all the moral, fear based arguments from all of this, it isn't wrong so much as it is massivly impractical. States are a tool use them.

There is also the problem of change. I mean which happens when the healthcare bill needs adjusting? We are going to have to go through this shit every 5 years? God no. If we don't though the whole thing will collapse in on itself.

So yeah no federalized health care. It just isn't a good idea for this country and it goes against some of its fundamental design structures. So what would I do instead? Yeah really smart people just spent all this time trying to figgure this shit out so I don't know.

It it were up to me though I'd prolly scale it something like minimum wage. Have a certain bare minimum each state has to provide and then let each state make adjustments as nessisary depending on their individual needs. I think this could be a much better system than going everyone gets cheap insurance and someone else figgure it out.

Honestly my way might end up being the same thing in most cases. But at least a state can be more atentive to details than a federal government can... or something like that. Either way I am just a person who doesn't have the reasources to come up with a plan. But that is where I stand.

To be honest I haven't met many people who are FIRMLY for the healthcare changes which is interesting. Anyway the federal plan isn't going to work, republican's are jumping ship, and that means if this does pass it will be a miricle at this point. I'm interested either way.

Ecconimics, insurance, and health

The rising cost of health care...

Lets stop there. A lot of people talk about the rising cost of health care but no one really talks about why the health care costs are rising. Or for that matter why they are so fucking high in the first place. See there is a huge elephant in the room that everyone knows about to one degree or another but no one seems to want to adress directly.

That is health insurance. They have seriously fucked things up.

Huh wuh? Why? Okay wow I am much shorter on time than I though. TURBO MODE.

Doctors are allowed to fix prices that are in no way related to anyone's income or are even appropriate to the treatment being given. Lets take an x-ray for example. You bring your pet to a vet x-ray may cost something like 70 bucks. They used to have x-ray machines in shoe stores for acurate measurement of your feet. Then we learned about radiation and many people died. Still it happened. So there IS NO REASON to charge 500 bucks for an x-ray. None.

Why can they? Simple. You have health insurance? Sure you do! The prices of any and all medical expensies can be fixed to an insurance companies income not your own. So doctors can charged, 50/100 bucks to just give you a check up when they are doing the equivalent of giving you an oil change.

As a result doctors can get away with their extensive vacations, price gouging, and bankers hours. Doctors have it easy in our country. FAR to easy, and it is the insurance companies that make it possible.

This isn't a direct result of evil by the way. It is just how things work in capitalism. Items are priced twords the incomes of people buying the product. Ergo, who pays for medical expenses? Well 90% of the time it is the insurance companies. So the price is set thusly. This is wrong though. It is also dangerouse.

Everyone is worried about death panels now? Fuck insurance companies have been doing it for years. Wake up and look around.

Health Care

So I've been relativly quiet regarding the healthcare debate. Mostly because it is just something that I'd rather just let happen around me than deal with directly. Also while I feel that need a massive overhaul to our healthcare plan I think that forcing everyone to get insurance isn't the answer. I mean we forced everyone to get car insurance and that's great! But I have the minimum insurace possible because I can't afford any more. Should something happen where I need my insurance I am fucked because my deductibles are high and the damage covered is pretty low. So sorry guy.

The same thing will happen with health care. Sure I'll have insurance but it won't be enough to actually do anything.

Of course right now I sound like a conservative so lets branch the conversation out a bit rather than leaving it focused on myself...even though I am far more interesting.

Issue one with healthcare. 80% of American's are satisfied with their current healthcare plan. I didn't make that up I got it out of the august issue of Time Magazine which is well worth the subscription I must say. That is a statistic that boggled my mind until I started to deconstruct it. That is going to be the rest of this entry then I am going home and eating because I REALLY want to.

First of that 80% I have to wonder just how many people have made any sort of signifigant use of our healthcare system. I bet the number is pretty low, I'd bet pretty solidly actually that the number is really low.

Next America is one of the most unhealthy industrialized nations in the whole fucking world. No seriously. This is the conversation that nobody is having at the moment. As I talked about last post we have people giving themselves scurvy because they aren't eating right, on the flip side obesity is rampant, and we have the hightest infant mortality rate of any industrialized nation in the world by a wide margin. Why is the infant mortality rate so high? They don't know studies are being done left and right but they are starting to realize that it is partly to do with the insanely poor health of the mothers. Parents don't go to annual check ups, and fuck they don't really bring their kids to annual checkups either. There is a huge faction of people who wait until they are nearly dead before they go to the doctors only to realize that massive amounts of pain and discomfort could of been avoided had they just gone early.

Health is one of those things that is just so utterly, and pathertically misunderstood in our country. We are ignorant of the way our bodies function to a fault, and as a result we have massive problems with our health, from these healthcare problems arise. We have people who eat like shit but excercise thinking that the two will balance each other out (they don't). We have people who think they can not sleep for days on end and crash then when the crash is over everything is fine and they are good to go again (they aren't). We have scurvy kid who if I ever meet him I will prolly chew him out for his utter stupidity.

In short we have a nation full of people who don't know how to take care of themselves claiming that they are getting perfectly acceptable healthcare.

No wonder why it is a hard sell.

The thing is I am part of the problem, I am just as ignorant as the rest. So what can I do? Really though I want a world where I can get a 6 month check up, and be able to afford to pay for whatever it is we find because we caught it early enough. That's not a world I live in now and I don't think that is a world Obama can give us.

Next time I tackle this issue (prolly tomarrow) I'll go into things like why the costs are so out of control and some other stuff, but right now I am fucking hungry.

Aftershocks

Woo so last night I had a pretty nasty migraine. Light started to suck, and all sorts of other things. Despite all of this I still managed to finnish my book "The Man Who Was Thursday". It was a neat book. I liked it. The thing about it though is that it was very victorian. Very very Victorian. Part of the way in I predicted the way the book was going to go. I knew that all the members of the secret anarchist council were going to be members of the philosphical police. I also knew that the man who recruited them was also the sinister head of the anarchist council Sunday, and lastly I also knew that when the ending of the book happened, depite all my accurate predictions, I would not understand Sunday's motives nor would I understand the imagry used at the end of the book.

I was right about that too. See that is the thing about victorian literature. Often times I find it to be dull and shockingly predicatable, even to the point where I can predict when it won't be dull or predicatble. However, it also can provide the most curiouse of thought puzzles to try and work through. I am happy with the book.

Now that I've slept on it, and meditated just a little bit I think I have a better handle on why the ending happened in the way that it did. I kind of want to write about it but at the moment my head is to filled with cotton to really get a handle on anything more complex than my desire to talk about stuff. Right now it feels like I am trying to jump start my brain with a nearly dead battery.

OH! So a lot of people have been talking about Glenn Beck. I don't have cable, and I don't watch Fox even if I did, so I have missed out on the Beckster for the most part. Last night though I decided that it was time I gave him a looksee. So I asked old Uncle youtube to show me a story. The first thing I saw by Beck was him talking about how the Fed was printing tons and tons of money with nothing to back it up, which he predicted would kill our dollar. It was an older video and he was right, the value of our dollar is going down, the rest of the world is looking to come up with a new standardized currency, and well he was right. Not only was he right but the clip I was watching was him going back and explaining why this was such a problem. See the day before he put up a chart, without really explaining it very well and when this came to his attension he went back and explained it better so his viewership would have a clearer understanding of the problem. Twords the end of the clip he did some gimmicky pot shots at some politicians but all in all it was a very sober affair.

Then I watched the start of another clip, Becky went out and found all these islamic extreamists groups hate propaganda and put it together in an hour long segment which I didn't watch. Before the segment started though he came out and said, "I am not a reporter. I am a conservitive, everything I am presenting to you is through this conservative prisim, I believe in order to have balanced broadcasting practices that you need to get highly opinionated viewpoints along with straight facts to get a full picture, I work in the media and I hadn't seen these clips until now. These are things that are not being shown to you". Neat. He came out stated his purpose and then showed off some hate speach.

Then I found some more modern clips. Bill Oriley calling Glenn Beck crazy being one of them, and the other is from Beck's radio broadcast where he starts making histerical shrieking sounds.

In all cases I looked at the youtube comments. Actually first I want to do the phone call video. The thing is that the person making the call is an idiot. See Beck was being rude and condensending to her, but you know what? She deserved it! Well not the shrieking part that was insane. But she was a stupid woman who clearly had little to know idea what she was talking about. Her whole argument was that in England you walk into a doctor's office and sign a form and that is all you need to do and that is the way it should be. Which is cool but it addresses exactly ZERO of the problems surrounding the health care debate.

Take Africa...Please

I've been trying to write a blog post about Africa for three days now. Last night I pulled out some of my theory books, and thought to myself, "hell maybe I'll write a for real paper" I reread all the comic books involved and then I realized something. There was no way in hell I could do this.

It started with a comic called The Unknown Soldier which is what the fuck mega awesome and you need to go read it right the fuck now. It deals with the stuff going down in Uguanda. I also have another comic that is dealing with what is going in Darlfur, and there is a one shot of Thor where he visits some no name country in Africa. So I started getting all my source material together and I started to realize things. First off I didn't even know if Darlfur and Uguanda were the same place (Darfur is a region of Sudan not Uguanda). I then realized that the country in Thor was a real place. I did a little bit more preliminary reading and I realized that...holy shit this is big. I abandoned the project because of this problem. See we aren't talking about just Darfur, or Uguanda. We are talking about the better part of an entire continent. If they aren't genociding each other than there is famine, waste and corruption. Aids is sweeping across the entire continent at such a pace that if we stick our heads in the sand for long enough the Africa problem will solve itself. The entire continent is a disaster on a scale that simply hasn't been seen before or since. People like to blame colonialism but I think colonialism is mearly the thing that shined an ugly light on the problem.

See if it was down to one region I could say something, but this is a continent, I can't even imagine operating on that sort of scale. Okay I can, but it would be bad.

So lets turn to history. Europe used to be a shitty place to live. That place was in a series of wars more or less constantly up until WW1, WW2 was there to make sure that they never have an argument ever again about anything. Going through and looking at all the crap they used to do to each other? I mean man that was some fucked up shit. Then something happened and it all stopped.

China was roughly the same way. The whole of modern day china used to be several smaller warring factions, it wasn't until Cao Cao united the land through war and bloodshed that things began to settle down.

I do think that just ignore Africa under the mantra of, "they can figgure it out for themselves" is more than just a little bit bullshitty.

Big projects don't really scare me but lets face it, we can't even not fuck up Iraq. Imagine trying to deal with all of or even part of Africa? We would have to kill millions just so that they could be slightly safe.

As far as I am concerned this is a problem that won't go away as a result of diplomacy or any of that other crap. But ignoring it? Ignoring it is just unacceptable to me.

The most I can think of is this. Protect those who wish to live peacefully as best as we are able. They are the future of that country. While we protect them we can show them sustainable farming and such so they don't end up with the same problems as us. I dunno, the answer is actually very simple. It is however, just to big. It is something the whole world needs to be concerned with, it is something the rest of africa needs to be concerned with. No one wants another Ceaser, Cao Cao, et cetera, but the better way requires all of us.

Now if that isn't a case of propaganda backfiring I don't know what is. I really need to find this lecture video that does an amazing job at showing you how shit our healthcare is.

It's funny where the internet will lead us

It's a sad article it really is. I don't think I've ever seen an organization with it's head so far up its own ass as this one.

So here is the idea. The idea is to take the bible and bring back its status as a holy text by putting it on display. It even gives you a place where you can write in the bible so that if you've ever felt excluded by it. Now I can see how this would be a good idea. It involves a commitee coffee and a generalized misunderstand of the abuses that the church and church going people heap upon the rest of the world. Yeah no I am seriouse. See they actually honestly thought that this would warm people's hearts and they would happily reclaim the bible with all the love and compasion that it entails.

Honestly, this is an absolutly brilliant piece of instalation art that I should of come up with. This is the sort of thing I think about ever god damned day. It would be awesome, better than this show clearly, but no they beat me to it. However, their intension is not like mine.

Symptomatic of a broken and lawless society, that's kind of funny coming from the church. Now granted I live in the bible belt so my anti religious views are kicked into over drive for self preservation purposes. But hey I have people standing on the street corrners yelling about how I am going to hell. Those people are crazy. However, I digress. People were writting in the bible about how they were bi-sexual and that any god that wouldn't have them the way they are built can fuck off, and things of that sort. This isn't an infantile reaction at all. This is a reaction that is tired of the shit that is perpetuated by the church day in and day out. We are tired of being condemed for who we are, how we dress, or the way we live our lives. Jesus takes in a prostiute and that fact is pushed off to the side so that smug mother fuck church goers can feel better about themselves.

Church calls us infantile but how many atrocities have they commited? And how many have they fessed up to and apologised for? What about the fact that the catholic church decided one century to remove dozens of books from the bible to make things easyer for them, or hey you know the molestation of children. What you are seeing is a protest. A protest in its finest and purest form.

See the bible it isn't such a bad book. Sure it disagrees with abortion, and it will tell your your sexual prefrence. But before it will do either of those things it will tell you to accept and love the people around you. That's the most important lesson. People then take that lession, ignore it, and fuck it up as hard as humanly possible. Jesus camps, protesting gay funerals, bombing abortion clinics... yeah none of that is really part of the whole bible thing. All that is just people being people, which is retarded.

It is sad really becuase this could be a chance. A chance for the church to really let people express their anger twords religion, anger they richly deserve. It could be the start of a dialouge, and maybe just maybe it could lead to the first faltering steps twords reconciliation between the church and people who have been alienated by it. Instead, the church did what it always does, and spits on the people who they are supposed to exalt, calling us childen, or worse yet wild animals. Then they wonder why we have so much rage twords the bible.
